Newly elected Cornet Ruairi Hotson led a cavalcade of young riders up the Kirk Wynd on Sunday the 15th of May for their annual sponsored walk.

A large group of enthusiastic youngsters took part and raised a staggering £2,500 for the Young Riders.

Ruairi, who was a Young Rider himself, was flanked by his Right- and Left-Hand men, Henry Jeffrey and Iain Little.

The route took the group up the Kirk Wynd and along the Burny Braes, before following the road up to the monument. As per Common Riding tradition, the group circled the monument three times before descending Whita down the face via Whita Well.

The youngsters were treated to an ice cream from Pelosis van on their arrival back in the Market Place.
