The Gallop
One of the highlights of Langholm Common Riding is the famous gallop to Whita Hill. Thanks to the family of the late Scott Morrison, we have a this incredible footage of the event – a true thrill for spectators and participants alike!
Whita Hill
From the Kirk Wynd gallop, riders follow the Cornet and his Right- and Left-Hand Men to the hill. Scott’s footage provides a unique vantage point of this spectacular part of the day, going from the ferocious gallop to the peace of the views above Langholm.
The Cornets Chase
The Cornets Chase concludes proceedings for riders. It is a fast-paced affair, with the cheers and roars of the crowds audible across the town.
