Ruairi Callum Hotson has been elected Langholm Cornet for 2022.

With a voting turnout just shy of eleven hundred, Ruairi saw off fierce competition from Stuart Tedham and Ewan Patterson, earning 491 votes with a majority of 66 over his nearest rival.

Ruairi will now follow in the footsteps of countless cornets before him, including his father Kevan who was cornet in 1990. His first duties will be representing Langholm at Hawick Common Riding in the coming weeks.
