The Castle Craigs AGM was held on Friday the 20th of may in the Crown Hotel, where a good number of members welcomed newly elected Cornet Ruairi Hotson.
The minutes from the 2019 AGM were read and passed, and Ex-President Iain Lindsley gave his report of the summer if 2019. Newly elected president Dale Irving then took over the meeting and the 2022 committee were picked.
The committee is now as follows: A. Beattie, A. Cavers, H. Donaldson, L. Earsman, N. Fletcher, J. Gordon, T. Henderson, S. Hotson, A. Johnstone, S. Murray, G. Park, E. Patterson, C. Tait and S. Tweddle.
A proposal was put out to open up the Benty Rideout to all competent riders. The reason behind this is the fading of the boys night in recent years, and in its place a family fun day is proposed, meaning there will be something for everyone. As a result, the Pony Rideout will be moved from the Wednesday to the Sunday, with the family fun day happening thereafter. In doing so, the Craig Rideout would need to be dropped, so the committee feels it’s only fair to open up the Benty Rideout, ensuring a good turnout of followers supporting our Cornet.
The Castle Craigs Club would like to thank everyone for their continued support during the pandemic, and look forward to seeing everyone over the Common Riding fortnight.
